Molygran Backs Move To A Living Wage
The UK’s Living Wage Foundation has accredited Molygran as a Living Wage employer.
The Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually. It is calculated according to the basic cost of living using the ‘Minimum Income Standard’. This is based on a public consensus about what people need to make ends meet in the UK.
Patrick Eastham, Chairman of Molygran said: “We have a vastly experienced and loyal team, boasting over 130 years’ service. Without them we are nothing. Committing to the living wage is just one of the ways that we are rewarding our staff for their commitment and excellent work.”
Living Wage Foundation Director, Rhys Moore said: “We are delighted to welcome Molygran to the Living Wage movement as an accredited employer. The best employers are voluntarily signing up to pay the Living Wage now. It’s a robust calculation that reflects the real cost of living, rewarding a hard day’s work with a fair day’s pay.
“We have accredited over 1,000 leading employers, including Molygran, ranging from independent printers, hairdressers and breweries, to well-known companies such as Nationwide, Aviva and SSE. These businesses recognise that clinging to the national minimum wage is not good for business. Customers expect better than that.“
We are proud of our team here at Molygran. As a family run business, we treat all staff as just that – family and some employees have been with us for over 20 years. Both the office and the factory work closely to ensure we provide the best possible service to our customers.
We care for each and every one of our employees and we most definitely get that same care and consideration back from them. We truly would be lost without them.
Our living wage commitment is just one of the ways we can thank them, and one we feel is extremely important in contributing to a happy and healthy work-life balance.
