We’re thrilled to have been a part of the Pilot Group for the new Greater Manchster Good Employment Charter. Greater Manchester continues to grow and develop at the centre of the Northern Powerhouse. With this, it’s fantastic to see that the devolved government is working to ensure it provide and safe and secure working environment.
The Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter
Following research in 2019 that showed wages had fallen by over 6%. There was therefore, a desire, and more importantly, a need, to improve the employment currently available within the city. Through this, there is also hope of attracting new business through encouraging a thriving and productive economy.
The Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter is a voluntary membership and assessment scheme. It has been created to help deliver good jobs with opportunities for people to progress and develop, along with a thriving and productive ecnomy.
For the last 6 months Molygran has worked within the Pilot Group to help contribute towards the membership criteria. Last week we recieved a letter from Andy Burnham. He thanked us for investing considerable, valuable time in helping to forumulate this.

Therefore, our next step is to look into becoming a supporter of the charter. As living wage employers, we are commited to providing the best workplace possible for our empoloyees. You can read more about this here. We thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the pilot group and believe all employers should strongly consider becoming a part of the charter.
