2023 has been an extremely busy year for us here at Molygran. We have had some of our biggest record-breaking months during these last 12 months which definitely kept us on our toes at times! Our team has also grown in size to ensure we could keep up with the increase in demand and workload, and yes, we have also added to our doggy daycare numbers too!!

It has taken quite a while for the market to get back to where it was pre-covid. There have been many factors that have changed the industry over these last few years, including the plastic packaging tax, Brexit, and resulting inflation. This year there was also the shock exit of Kay Metzeler from the EPS manufacturing industry as they ceased trading at the end of June. The price of EPS continued to rise, as with the cost of most raw materials over the past couple of years. Price increases are not something we ever take lightly, however as you can appreciate they were necessary. With all this in mind, the inflationary pressures have reduced we were pleased to finally be able to pass on some price reductions to you back in November 22 and March 23. There are also hopes of further reductions in the New Year. We will of course be in touch with this as soon as we know for definite.

Please note that Molygran will close for Christmas on Wednesday 20th December and will re-open on Tuesday 2nd January 2024. During our Christmas close down we will be unable to accept any recycling as we do not have any outdoor drop-off sites and our yard will be locked up. If possible please do save any recycling for the New Year and avoid sending it to landfill.

Valued Custom

More than anything, this email is once again to thank you for your valued custom throughout the year. We do not make products to sell “off the shelf”; they are all bespoke to your needs and requirements and this is something we pride ourselves on. Some of you will be new to us this year, some of you will have been with us for a few years, and some well over 20 years; but each and every one of you are what keeps us going and we are eternally grateful.

We would also like to make you aware of the different industries we supply. Often when orders are placed they are for a specific need and so you may not be aware of the endless possibilities with expanded polystyrene. Our polystyrene solutions are predominately used for three sectors. Our expanded polystyrene protective packaging is ideal for safeguarding goods while in transit or storage and provides perfect presentation when products reach your customer. Our design and display products such as signage and giant letters provide cost-effective solutions to transform any space or event. You will also find Molygran expanded polystyrene in major road, rail, and drainage projects across the UK as well as industrial processes and the power industry.

Finally, we also recycle expanded polystyrene. Contrary to popular belief, expanded polystyrene is 100% recyclable. We offer our free recycling service to all our customers and to anyone wishing to dispose of their unwanted EPS correctly.
